Dilshad Jahan is a Lecturer in Economics at Swansea University's School of Management within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Economics from Heriot-Watt University (2016), an MSc with distinction in International Finance from the University of Dundee, and undergraduate degrees (MSS and BSS) in Economics from the University of Dhaka.

Dilshad's research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary economics, financial economics, and the relationship between financial development and economic growth. Her PhD investigated exchange rate pass-through, classifications of monetary policy regimes, and the connection between economic growth and financial development across various countries. She has particular expertise in applied econometrics and has published research examining monetary policy shocks in the UK housing sector's bank lending channel.
Her recent publication analyzes monetary policy transmission mechanisms in the UK housing market, revealing asymmetric impacts in the bank lending channel. This work contributes to understanding how monetary policy affects different segments of the housing market.
Dilshad is available for postgraduate supervision and is currently co-supervising a PhD student working on "Three Essays on house price dynamics in the UK" with Dr. Rosen Chowdhury.
At Swansea University since 2015, she teaches undergraduate modules including Mathematical Techniques for Economics B (EC-1019), Current Issues in Economics (EC-1510), and Principles of Macroeconomics (EC-1512). She also teaches economics in the MSc Engineering Leadership and Management program. Prior to Swansea, she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Heriot-Watt University from January 2011 to September 2014.
