معرفی
Diego Subero Rengel is a Visitor (Faculty) in the Department of Applied Physics at Aalto University, specializing in quantum technology research. He recently earned his Doctor of Science (Technology) in Engineering Physics in September 2024 from Aalto University, with his doctoral thesis titled 'Quantum transport and phase transitions in superconducting systems.'
His educational background includes a Master's degree in Engineering and Technology from Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas, awarded in February 2018. He is currently active in the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Quantum Technology (QTF) project as a project member.
Subero Rengel's research focuses on quantum transport phenomena in superconducting systems, with particular expertise in Josephson junctions, heat transport mechanisms, and photonic applications in quantum devices. His work bridges theoretical modeling with experimental implementations in quantum thermodynamics and nanoscale measurement techniques.
His publication record shows a strong trajectory with significant contributions to high-impact journals including Nature Communications (16 citations), Physical Review B, and Journal of Low Temperature Physics. His research demonstrates consistent focus on quantum transport properties, with increasing complexity and impact in recent years.
- Active participant in the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Quantum Technology (QTF)
- Project member in multiple quantum technology initiatives funded by Academy of Finland and EU ERC grants
- Collaborates extensively with Prof. J. Pekola's research group
His research group works within the Centre of Excellence in Quantum Technology framework, focusing on quantum heat engines, refrigerators, and quantum device development. Current projects explore superconducting quantum heat engines and refrigerators, with applications in quantum computing and ultra-sensitive detection systems.
