Dianna E. Willis, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medicine and holds multiple leadership roles at the Burke Neurological Institute, including Associate Director, Director of the Laboratory for Axonal and RNA Biology, and Co-Director of the Center for Pain & Sensory Recovery. Her research focuses on axonal translation mechanisms in neuropathic pain and neurodegenerative diseases. She completed her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Delaware (2002) and postdoctoral training at Nemours Biomedical Research.
- Affiliations: Burke Neurological Institute, Weill Cornell Medicine
- Leadership: Willis Lab Director, Burke-Blythedale Program in Pediatric Clinic Neuroscience
Her work bridges axonal biology and clinical pain management, investigating how local protein synthesis in axons contributes to neurological disorders. Recent studies explore ribosomal regulation in nerve regeneration and novel therapies for neuropathic pain.
