Diane Shea serves as Dean and Professor of Nursing at Emmanuel College's Maureen Murphy Wilkens School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. and B.S.N. from Boston College, an M.S.N. in Nursing Administration from UCLA, and a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard University. She is also an AACN Wharton Executive Leadership Fellow.
Her research focuses on Interprofessional Education, Practice Partnerships, and Nursing Pipeline Development, with significant contributions to college drinking prevention through sociodrama interventions and simulation-based education. Her recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on academic-practice partnerships, diversity in healthcare education, and innovative teaching methodologies using simulation.

Dr. Shea actively mentors new deans and serves on multiple advisory boards including the Massachusetts Association of Colleges of Nursing and the International Consortium for Outcomes of Nursing Education. Her grant portfolio includes over $300,000 in funded projects focused on interprofessional education, workforce diversity, and international service learning initiatives in Haiti and Guatemala.
