معرفی
Dr. Diane Dickie is a Senior Scientist and X-Ray Crystallographer at the University of Virginia, affiliated with the Departments of Chemistry and Materials Science & Engineering within the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Her research focuses on crystallography, materials science, and inorganic chemistry, with expertise in neutron scattering analysis, coordination compounds, and catalytic reactions. She joined UVA in 2018 and maintains a lab in Jesser Hall 118.
Education: B.Sc. (Honors) in Chemistry from Mount Allison University, focusing on hydroboration of ketoenamines under Prof. Stephen Westcott. Her work bridges fundamental crystallography with applied materials science, emphasizing structural dynamics and photoluminescence efficiency in hybrid perovskites.
Research interests include designing precise deuteration methods for medicinal compounds, developing luminescent sensors, and studying boron-doped heterocycles. Recent articles highlight advancements in carbene-stabilized radicals, magnetic tunability in cobalt salts, and boron-phosphorus ring systems.
Publications span structural analysis, catalytic mechanisms, and material characterization, with a focus on crystallographic education and error mitigation. No awards listed, but she actively contributes to interdisciplinary research at the interface of chemistry and engineering.
