Diane Dalecki, PhD, is the Kevin J. Parker Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Rochester. She directs the Rochester Center for Biomedical Ultrasound and previously chaired the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Her research focuses on advancing diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound technologies for medicine, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. She holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Chemical and Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
Her work integrates acoustics, biomaterials, and biomechanics to develop novel ultrasound applications, including non-invasive imaging and tissue regeneration. Notable contributions include acoustic patterning for vascular networks and collagen-based biomaterials. She has received prestigious fellowships from the AIUM, ASA, and AIMBE, reflecting her international leadership in biomedical ultrasound.
Current projects include NIH-funded studies on acoustic patterning for tissue vascularization and wound healing in aging. Her lab’s multidisciplinary approach bridges engineering and biology, with a strong emphasis on translational research.
