Diana Tan is a Research Fellow at Macquarie University's School of Education, affiliated with both the Early Childhood Education Research Centre and the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre. Originally from Singapore, she relocated from Perth, Western Australia (Noongar Country) to Dharug Country to join Macquarie University in 2021.

Diana Tan leads an independent research program focused on understanding Autistic people's experiences with stigma, discrimination, and belonging across diverse settings. Her work incorporates quantitative, qualitative, and participatory approaches, with a strong commitment to collaborative research practices involving neurodivergent people as active decision-makers. Her broader research interests include social camouflaging and the auditory experiences of neurodivergent individuals.

She leads multiple active research projects including 'Exploring Learning and Memory of Real-World Auditory Textures in the Autistic Community' and 'Co-developing a questionnaire for measuring societal attitudes towards autism and autistic people.'
