Devesh Rustagi

Devesh Rustagi is an Assistant Professor studying the origins of culture and institutions at the University of Warwick's Department of Economics. His research examines interactions between cultural evolution and institutional development using field experiments and quasi-experimental approaches across multiple countries.

Current projects investigate cooperation norms in forest commons management, individual honesty in market transactions, and discrimination's effects on cooperation dilemmas. His work connects historical governance patterns with contemporary economic behaviors and outcomes.
