Desmond Greer is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast. His research focuses on software evolution, search-based software engineering (SBSE), automated refactoring, and requirements engineering. He has supervised multiple PhD students, including Michael Mohan, Sharon McGee, and Liang Xiao, whose work spans topics like software maintenance and adaptive agent models.
Greer holds three prestigious awards, including Best Paper recognitions at IEEE Requirements Engineering (2011) and Computational Science (2019) conferences. He actively collaborates with industry through KTP projects, such as those with Tascomi Ltd and Linden Foods Ltd, and contributes to editorial roles and conferences like Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement.
