Desiree Slaybaugh

Desiree Slaybaugh is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law, where she has served since 2022. She teaches courses in Civil Procedure, Contracts, and Business Associations.

• Education: J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (with full presidential scholarship); L.L.M. in Latin American and International Law from University of Texas School of Law.
• Academic Experience: Previously taught at Peking University School of Transnational Law (China), served as Westerfield Teaching Fellow at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law (2018–2020), and was a visiting professor at William H. Bowen School of Law (2020–2021).
• Practice Background: Practiced in Dallas-Fort Worth area at Baron & Budd, U.S. Small Business Administration, and Parker McDonald Trial Lawyers, focusing on property law, eminent domain, and products liability litigation.
• Research Focus: Legal issues in regulated industries (particularly wine industry) and humanitarian law/human rights.
• Honors: Full Presidential Scholarship (Texas Wesleyan); sole 2015 graduate recognized by Teresa Lozano Long Institute for Latin American Studies (University of Texas).
