Derik L. Davis

Derik L. Davis is a Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He serves as the Program Director for the MRI Fellowship and Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship, and as Course Director for the Medical Student Musculoskeletal Radiology Elective (RADL 543). Dr. Davis is board-certified and specializes in musculoskeletal imaging for the University of Maryland Medical System and VA Maryland Healthcare System.

Recent studies analyze fatty infiltration in rotator cuff tears and its relation to shoulder pain, mobility, and aging populations.

Publications emphasize quantitative MRI analysis, musculoskeletal trauma, and aging-related disorders. He has authored/co-authored over 105 peer-reviewed articles and 13 book chapters, with notable contributions to the American Journal of Sports Medicine and Skeletal Radiology.
