Dr. Derek Brower is the '89 Professor of Education at Northwestern College. He holds an Ed.D. from Montana State University, an M.Ed. and B.A. from Western Washington University, and a B.A. in Philosophy from Northwestern College. With 12 years of secondary science teaching experience across Iowa, Botswana, the Marshall Islands, and Thailand, he integrates global perspectives into his academic work. His research focuses on science education curriculum and instruction, informed by Peace Corps service in Botswana, teaching on U.S. military bases, and missionary education in Thailand.
