Denys Poshyvanyk

Denys Poshyvanyk is a Chancellor Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The College of William & Mary. He holds senior membership in both ACM and IEEE and serves on the CRA-E Board of Directors.

His research focuses on software engineering with emphasis on software evolution and maintenance, program comprehension, and integration of machine learning/deep learning techniques. Additional expertise includes mobile application development and testing for Android platforms, alongside large-scale software repository mining.

His scientific contributions have been recognized with multiple prestigious awards:

• 7 ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Awards
• 4 Most Influential Paper Awards (test of time awards)
• NSF CAREER award (2013)

Dr. Poshyvanyk maintains significant leadership roles including editorial positions for IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology, and Empirical Software Engineering. He currently serves as Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering Area Co-chair for ICSE'23 and has chaired program committees for ASE'21, MobileSoft'19, ICSME'16, and ICPC'13.
