Dennis Wambolt

Dennis Wambolt is a doctoral student and Research Associate at the Department of Eastern European History within the History Department of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His roles include supervising seminars and contributing to research projects focused on Soviet history and communist political systems.

• Role of propaganda in one-party dictatorships

• Memory culture and historiography in Eastern Europe

His dissertation, supervised by Professor Dr. Jan Kusber, examines political participation in the Soviet Union through letters to the editor during Lithuania's Sovietization (1944–1958). His master's thesis analyzed pseudo-democratic practices in Soviet Lithuania.
