Dr. Dennis Hofman is the Department Head of Housing & Technology Services (HTS) at Utrecht University's Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. He holds a doctoral degree in Neuroscience from Utrecht University (2013), focusing on 'Our Biased Brain.' His research interests span cognitive neuroscience, neurophysiology, and psychophysiology, with a focus on sensory integration, social cognition, and emotional processing. Hofman has collaborated extensively on studies involving interhemispheric connectivity, facial mimicry, and the neuroendocrine influences on behavior. His work integrates EEG, TMS, and behavioral paradigms to explore mechanisms underlying perception, action, and social interaction.
- Education: PhD in Neuroscience (Utrecht University, 2013)
His publications (2008–2019) emphasize themes like sensory attenuation, predictive coding in multisensory systems, and the neural correlates of aggression and dominance. Hofman has contributed to interdisciplinary research on autism and psychopathic offenders’ brain connectivity. While no formal awards are listed, his prolific output reflects significant contributions to cognitive and behavioral neuroscience.
