معرفی
Roles & Affiliations: Dennis Flanagan is a Professor Emeritus of Agricultural & Biological Engineering at Purdue University and an Agricultural Engineer with the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) at the National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory (NSERL). He leads research on soil erosion mechanics, process-based modeling (WEPP), and water quality control.
Education: B.S. from The Ohio State University, M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University.
Research Focus: Soil erosion processes, WEPP model development, sediment transport, and applications in conservation planning. Notable contributions include leadership in USDA-NRCS model implementation, PAM/gypsum erosion control studies, and international symposiums on soil erosion research.
Awards: ASABE Fellow (2011), organizer of landmark conferences (e.g., 2001 Soil Erosion Symposium, 2023 Climate-Driven Erosion Research), and leader in USLE/RUSLE technology development.
Advising & Projects: Advised graduate students on erosion modeling and digital agriculture. Led USDA-ARS initiatives, collaborated with Iowa State University on WEPP interfaces, and pioneered PAM amendment research for erosion control.
Labs & Teams: Director of NSERL, part of Purdue’s interdisciplinary research ecosystem in environmental and agricultural engineering.
