Dennis Brylow

Dennis Brylow is Professor and Chair of Computer Science at Marquette University, specializing in real-time/embedded systems and computer science education. He leads the Embedded XINU research project developing lightweight operating systems for educational use on platforms like Raspberry Pi and RISC-V. Brylow directs multiple NSF-funded initiatives including a Data Science REU site and the PUMP-CS project for K-12 CS teacher development.

His teaching encompasses operating systems, programming languages, compilers, and embedded systems. Recent publications focus on CS education innovations like automated grading tools and state-level teacher capacity analysis. As regional partner for Code.org, Brylow supports statewide computer science education expansion.
