Denné N. Reed is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin and a member of the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on human evolution, micromammal paleoecology, taphonomy, and the application of GIS and remote sensing technologies to study ecological and environmental influences on hominin adaptations and behavior.

Professor Reed teaches introductory biological anthropology, human evolution, paleoecology, applied data analysis, GIS, and remote sensing. His fieldwork spans Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, and Morocco, with an emphasis on reconstructing ancient environments through geospatial technologies.
He actively engages in science communication and has contributed to graduate programs in Physical Anthropology at UT Austin. Office hours are held Wednesdays from 2-3 PM.
