Deniz BALTA serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Sakarya University's Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, a position held since 2020.
His academic background includes a Doctorate (2012-2019) and Master's degree (2010-2012) from Sakarya University's Institute of Science in Computer and Information Engineering, with doctoral research on fuzzy logic-based indoor air quality monitoring systems and master's work on security infrastructure for service-oriented architectures. He completed his Licence degree (2005-2010) in Computer Engineering at Eskişehir Osmangazi University.
His research spans Machine Learning (feature selection, K-Nearest Neighbors, Marine Predators Algorithm), Computer Vision (pose-based monitoring, face anti-spoofing), Biometrics (two-factor facial authentication), and Health Informatics (anxiety, depression, and perinatal period applications), with strong emphasis on Computer Security for critical infrastructure.
Prior to his current role, he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Engineering at the same faculty from 2010 to 2020.
