Demet TAŞTEMÜR

Dr. Demet TAŞTEMÜR serves as a Lecturer and Vice Dean in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering at Karabük University's Faculty of Technology, where she has been a full-time Research Assistant since 2014. Her academic leadership includes administrative responsibilities alongside active research in steel metallurgy.

She investigates dynamic strain aging phenomena in tool steels, hot deformation behavior of powder-metallurgy-produced alloys, and microstructural evolution during thermo-mechanical treatments. Her experimental work employs advanced techniques like Gleeble 3800 thermomechanical testing to optimize steel manufacturing processes for enhanced mechanical performance.

Her 11 publications (2017-2024) reveal a consistent research trajectory focused on steel metallurgy, with recent emphasis (2022-2024) on multi-pass hot rolling parameters, heat treatment effects, and powder metallurgy processing of microalloyed steels. Key contributions include establishing processing-structure-property relationships in Nb-V microalloyed steels and AISI 4340 alloys, with significant findings on how thermomechanical parameters influence mechanical behavior and microstructural characteristics.

Dr. TAŞTEMÜR has secured research funding as a collaborator in three Turkish Higher Education Council projects:
