Delphis F. Levia

Delphis F. Levia is a Professor of Ecohydrology at the University of Delaware with joint appointments in Plant & Soil Sciences and Civil Engineering. He serves as Past Chair of Geography & Spatial Sciences and Founding Director of the GIScience Program. Dr. Levia holds a Ph.D. from Clark University (2000), M.S. from University of Massachusetts (1996), and B.A. from Clark University (1994).

His research focuses on biosphere-atmosphere interactions, particularly precipitation partitioning by trees from hydrological and biogeochemical perspectives, with recent expansion into water-disease relationships. He maintains an international research program spanning Japan, Germany, Panama, and Spain.

Dr. Levia's publications demonstrate cutting-edge work in ecohydrology, biogeochemistry, and environmental health. Recent articles explore hydrological extremes, forest-water interactions, and global water cycle dynamics. His editorial roles include Series Editor for Springer's Ecological Studies and Associate Editor for Hydrological Processes.
