Delphine Dahan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, affiliated with the Linguistics Department and MindCORE. Her research investigates language processing, focusing on speech comprehension and how listeners resolve ambiguity in real time. She employs eye-tracking and behavioral methods to study topics like talker adaptation, prosody, and lexical access. Dahan earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Paris and has supervised graduate students like Catherine Apgar. Her lab explores intact language mechanisms to better understand disorders, emphasizing experimental paradigms involving unscripted conversations and visual-world designs.
Education: Ph.D., Psychology, University of Paris La Sorbonne René Descartes. Courses taught include 'Language and Thought' and 'Psychology of Language.' The lab is located in Levin Building, Room 253, with a mailing address at 3401 Walnut Street, Philadelphia.
Research interests emphasize real-time language processing, prosodic influences, and the interplay between perception and production. Recent work examines how contextual factors modulate speech perception and lexical competition. The lab collaborates across disciplines, combining experimental psychology with computational modeling.
