Delin Wang

Delin Wang is a PartTime Lecturer at the University of Southampton and a PhD candidate in Engineering and the Environment (2023-2027), where he is affiliated with the Transportation Research Group. His role as a Demonstrator for module CENV3060 Highway and Traffic Engineering reflects his active contribution to academic instruction.

His research centers on evaluating infrastructure impacts from Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), specifically quantifying whole life cycle carbon footprint changes required for CAV integration compared to conventional human-driven vehicle systems. This work addresses critical sustainability challenges in transportation infrastructure evolution, combining expertise in highway engineering with environmental impact assessment.

With 10 years of prior transportation industry experience (2013-2023), Wang brings practical insights to his academic work. His educational background includes an MSc in Transportation Planning and Engineering from the University of Southampton (2011-2012), establishing a foundation for his current PhD research on sustainable infrastructure transitions.
