Delie Bullock is an Adjunct Instructor of Spanish at Cumberland University, bringing 16 years of experience in World Language Education. She also teaches Spanish at Green Hill High School in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, maintaining a dual role in secondary and higher education.
Her educational background includes:
- B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
- M.S. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Delie is deeply committed to experiential learning and cultural engagement in language education. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes practical application of language skills and fostering student connection to Hispanic cultures. With personal experience living and working in Costa Rica and studying in Mexico, she integrates real-world cultural insights into her curriculum. Her interests span Spanish language instruction, cultural immersion, bilingual development, and ESL programming, reflecting a holistic approach to language education.
She previously served as the director of the English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Maryville College and is enthusiastic about returning to the higher education environment. Her passion for global cultures extends beyond the classroom through extensive travel, including recent family trips to Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
Delie values the personalized, student-centered experience offered by liberal arts institutions like Cumberland University. She actively promotes cultural appreciation and language proficiency through immersive and relatable teaching methods.
