Dehanza Rogers

Dehanza Rogers is Assistant Professor and Director of Production in Film and Media at Emory University. She holds MFAs in Production/Directing and Cinematography from UCLA, and a BA in Anthropology from California State University, Northridge. Her creative and scholarly work examines Blackness, particularly Black girlhood, through cinematic representation and cultural production.

Professor Rogers' films have screened internationally at venues including Venice Biennale and PBS. She was nominated for an Emmy Award for her collaborative film work with choreographer Kyle Abraham. She teaches courses in narrative filmmaking, directing, cinematography, and representations of Black girlhood in contemporary media.
