Debra Romanick Baldwin is a Professor of English at the University of Dallas. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago's Committee on Social Thought. Her research focuses on Joseph Conrad, the psychology of extreme conditions in literature, and the role of the artist as critic in the 20th century. She has authored The Inwardness of Things: Joseph Conrad and the Voice of Poetry (2024) and edited The Routledge Companion to Joseph Conrad (2024). Current projects include translating Ukrainian writer Lyubov Sirota's novel As Long As the Sky Still Shines Within Us, or, On Freedom, Dignity and Love.
