Debra Loewen is a Lecturer in the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) and teaches at Lawrence University. She holds an MFA in Dance from UWM and a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her career spans choreography, performance, and education, with a focus on site-specific work and modern dance. She founded the Wild Space Dance Company in 1987, producing over 100 works performed internationally. Loewen has received multiple choreographic fellowships and leads residencies at Lincoln Middle School of the Arts, emphasizing arts-in-education initiatives.
