Dr. Debra Brown is an Associate Professor at the School of Fine and Performing Arts, Northwest Missouri State University, since 2017. Her academic focus spans elementary music education, curriculum integration, and teacher training.
- Ph.D. in Music Education from University of Kansas
- Master in Music Education from University of Missouri-Kansas City
- Bachelor of Music Education from Baker University
Her research emphasizes elementary music pedagogy, fostering interdisciplinary curriculum design, and enhancing listening skills in K-12 education. She has presented nationally on curriculum integration and mentored student groups through NAfME.
Dr. Brown’s professional experience includes collegiate teaching at Ball State University, University of Kansas, and Johnson County Community College, alongside 18 years of K-12 music instruction in Olathe, KS.
She is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA), and honor societies Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Mu.
