Deborah Williams

Deborah Williams is an Assistant Professor and Dean of the College of Business & Social Sciences at West Virginia State University (WVSU). She previously served as Interim Dean, Chair of Accounting, and Interim Associate Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs. Prior to academia, she worked at Monongahela Power Company as Assistant Comptroller and contributed to non-profit organizations like the YMCA of Kanawha Valley.

Her professional expertise includes managerial accounting, accounting information systems, and curriculum development. She led WVSU’s business and economics programs through accreditation reaffirmation with ACBSP and spearheaded fully online degree programs in management and accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant since 1985 and actively participates in professional societies such as the West Virginia Society of CPAs and the West Virginia Council of Accounting Educators.

Williams’ leadership spans academic administration, industry, and non-profit sectors, reflecting her commitment to advancing business education and adapting curricula to evolving regulatory and technological landscapes.
