Deborah Graham is a Lecturer at the University of Cumbria, teaching on the BA Hons Primary and Early Years (3-11) with QTS and the PGCE programs. She has over 30 years of experience in Cumbrian schools, serving in roles such as Assistant Headteacher, Key Stage 2 Lead, and English Subject Lead. Her academic qualifications include a BEd(Hons) in Art and Design with QTS, a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, and a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
Her research focuses on creativity integration in primary education and diversity within creative arts. Key contributions include co-authoring a 2019 article on leveraging census data in primary history education, published in the Historical Association journal. She is a member of the National Society for Education in Art and Design (nsead).
Deborah’s teaching expertise spans English, Mathematics, Art and Design, and Design and Technology, reflecting her broad leadership roles in curriculum coordination. She remains active in local educational networks, including chairing a regional English cluster group.
