Debjyoti Chakravorty is a Research Fellow in Organizational Behaviour at Bayes Business School, University of London. His PhD research focuses on marginalized indigenous tea plantation workers in Darjeeling, India, exploring how narratives of history, collective memory, and future imaginaries drive social mobilization. His work integrates social movement theory and temporalities in organization studies, supported by 4 years of ethnographic fieldwork involving 120+ interviews and archival data analysis. Deb has presented at top conferences like AOM 2025 and EGOS 2025.
Previously, he earned a Cum Laude MSc (Research) in Strategy from Rotterdam School of Management and a Distinction-level MSc in Banking & Finance from Queen Mary, University of London. His master’s thesis analyzed M&A learning dynamics using quantitative models. He is a GTA at Bayes and affiliated with ETHOS and the Centre for Professional Service Firms.
Research interests span marginalized communities, gender equity, labor rights, and M&A strategy. He collaborates on interdisciplinary projects addressing inequality and dignity in global supply chains.
