Debak Das is Assistant Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, specializing in international security and nuclear proliferation. He holds a Ph.D. in Government from Cornell University and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford's Center for International Security and Cooperation.
His research examines nuclear strategy, crisis dynamics, and evolving military technologies in South Asia. Recent publications analyze missile proliferation risks, Indo-Pacific security architectures, and Sino-Indian nuclear competition. Fieldwork includes extensive archives research in India, UK, France and US.
Das teaches courses on international security theory, nuclear weapons policy, and South Asian politics. As affiliate researcher at Sciences Po Paris and Stanford CISAC, he contributes to track-II dialogues on regional stability. Current projects investigate decision-making during nuclear crises and emerging technology impacts on deterrence.
