Dean Robinson

Dean Robinson is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, specializing in Black politics, social thought, and racial/class inequalities in health. His research bridges political science and public health, focusing on the policy dimensions of health disparities in the United States.

Current projects include a second edition of his book Black Nationalism in US Politics and Thought (Cambridge), an empirical study on antipoverty policy impacts on Black and white birth outcomes, and a co-authored book with Javier Rodriguez analyzing politics, economics, and Black-white mortality trends. He serves as co-PI on grants from the National Institute of Minority Health Disparities (MOCHA: Moving Forward study) and the National Science Foundation (disease modeling algorithms).
