Dawn Murphy

Dawn Murphy is a Lecturer at the Wexford Campus of SETU (Institute of Technology, Carlow-Wexford), specializing in Early Childhood Education. She holds a PhD in Education from the University of Limerick (2016), an MA in Education (2010), and nursing qualifications from the University of Manchester and Middlesex University. Her research focuses on the professionalisation of the early childhood sector, care in education, and STEAM integration in early childhood curricula. She advocates for valuing care as a foundational element of early education and improving working conditions for practitioners in Ireland.

External roles include serving as SIG Member of the Educational Studies Association of Ireland, Director of the Wexford Childcare Committee, and Executive member of PLE.
