Dawn Morton-Rias

Dawn Morton-Rias is a Professor at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University, affiliated with the School of Health Professions and the Physician Assistant Program. With over 25 years of clinical experience in Family Medicine and Obstetrics/Gynecology, she focuses on didactic and clinical instruction in areas such as Introduction to Physician Assistant Practice, Pharmacology, and Adult Primary Care Medicine.

• Education: Ed.D. from St. John's University, Professional Diploma in Instructional Leadership from St. John's University, BS from Howard University, BA in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from SUNY at Stony Brook.

Her research interests include Medical Education, Primary Care, and Women's Health, with a focus on evidence-based practices in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and Pediatric/OB/GYN care. She has contributed to professional standards through leadership roles in accrediting bodies.
