Dawn Gilpin is a Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. She teaches courses in architectural design, representation, and immersive technologies.

Her research focuses on accessibility in domestic spaces, leveraging immersive technologies to reimagine architectural design and representation. She explores how spatial storytelling and digital tools can challenge traditional domesticity paradigms.
Gilpin’s recent projects include Empathy In Point Clouds (2022), which investigates spatial representation through virtual reality, and the 2016 Wallenberg Studio project The Radical and The Preposterous: Mind the Gap, which won an ARCHITECT Studio Prize.
