Dawid Kasprzak

Dawid Kasprzak is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Chemistry, Institute of Technical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Poznań University of Technology. With a PhD in Engineering completed in 2019, he specializes in electrochemical energy storage systems and sustainable materials processing.

His research focuses on developing advanced electrochemical power sources including supercapacitors, Li-ion cells, Li-S cells, and zinc-ion batteries. Key areas include synthesis of ionic liquids with carboxylate anions and processing of biopolymers (cellulose, chitin) for energy storage applications. His work emphasizes sustainable materials and circular economy principles, as evidenced by research using waste PET bottles for carbon materials.

Kasprzak's recent publications (2023-2024) demonstrate strong activity in zinc-ion battery technology, particularly in developing gel biopolymer electrolytes and understanding gas evolution mechanisms. His work bridges fundamental electrochemistry with practical applications for flexible, wearable, and sustainable energy storage devices. The research shows consistent focus on biopolymer utilization and electrolyte engineering across multiple publications.

As an educator, he conducts laboratory classes and calculation exercises in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Chemical and Process Thermodynamics for students outside the home faculty.
