Davide Wüthrich is an Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology's Department of Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk within the Civil Engineering & Geosciences school. He holds a B.Sc. from Politecnico di Torino and M.Sc./Ph.D. from EPFL. He also serves as Honorary Lecturer at The University of Queensland.
His research focuses on hydraulic infrastructure resilience, flood protection, air-water flow dynamics, and disaster prevention. Notable projects include post-flood forensic surveys, hydropower rehabilitation, and tsunami impact studies. He has conducted fieldwork in Switzerland, Canada, Japan, and Australia.
Wüthrich has received awards including the Coastal Engineering Journal Award (2018) and EPFL's Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Distinction (2019). His recent work explores floating debris effects on flood risk and experimental analysis of dam-break wave properties.
He contributed to datasets like drone photogrammetry for river discharge modeling and post-flood surveys in the Ahr Valley. His activities include visiting research at Università degli Studi della Campania (2022).
