Davide Lo Presti

Davide Lo Presti is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Palermo. He teaches subjects such as "SMART ROAD, RAILWAYS AND AIRPORT" and "SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE" within the Civil Engineering program.

• Research Focus: Sustainable transportation infrastructure, asphalt mixtures with high recycled content, bio-based materials, life cycle assessment (LCA), and railway trackbed engineering.
• Key Contributions: Developed methodologies for sustainable pavement lifecycle management (PavementLCM), investigated crumb rubber and waste polyethylene in asphalt binders, and led the EU-funded SUP&R ITN project on sustainable pavements and railways.
• Grants & Projects: Involved in CEDR Call 2017 projects on new materials for road pavements, including SyRAF (Synthesised Results and Applicable Findings) and PavementLCM.
