Davide Casciano is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at KU Leuven's Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences. His current LAGOSTECH project investigates technology-society integration in 'silicon places' across sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on Lagos, Nigeria. He splits his research time between Lagos and San José, California until 2026-2027. Previously, he held roles as a Research Fellow at UCL London (ERC Extort project on digital extortion) and the University of Bologna (LUXCORE project on luxury/corruption dynamics in Lagos).

Research focuses on ICT anthropology, digital sociology in Africa, religious movements (Pentecostalism), crime/corruption, and urban security dynamics. His work bridges technological innovation studies with socio-cultural analysis of African urban contexts.
Current grants include Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and ERC funding. No publications listed in LIRIAS, but a 2024 monograph on Lagosian digital landscapes is forthcoming.
