Davide Avino serves as Senior Lecturer in Finance within the Accounting and Finance Department of the University of Liverpool Management School since May 2018, following lecturing appointments at Cardiff University (2017-2018) and Swansea University (2014-2017). He maintains active research collaborations with University College Dublin's Financial Mathematics and Computation Cluster and holds leadership roles including MSc Finance Director of Studies (2023-2026) and Postgraduate Lead for Accounting and Finance (2024-2026).
His academic foundation includes a PhD in Finance from the ICMA Centre at Henley Business School, University of Reading. Professional development is further evidenced through visiting positions at LUISS Guido Carli University (2019-2020) and extensive external examiner appointments at Lancaster University, University of Reading, and University of Sussex.
Avino's research program centers on extracting policy-relevant market signals through advanced statistical methodologies including time series econometrics and panel data analysis. His work spans credit risk modeling, asset pricing anomalies, and financial market microstructure, with recent expansion into climate finance examining how environmental uncertainty interacts with corporate investment decisions and interest rate dynamics. This evolution reflects growing scholarly attention to sustainable finance within his core expertise.
Analysis of his publication trajectory (2013-2024) reveals three distinct phases: early focus on CDS markets and price discovery mechanisms (2013-2015), mid-career expansion into dividend risk premiums and macroeconomic news effects (2019-2021), and current leadership in climate finance integration with traditional asset pricing frameworks (2022-2024). His methodological consistency in applying quantitative techniques across these domains demonstrates scholarly cohesion.
