Davide Angeletti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedicine, University of Gothenburg. His work focuses on B-cell differentiation mechanisms during viral infections, particularly influenza and respiratory viruses, aiming to develop mucosal vaccines. He holds a PhD from Karolinska Institutet (2013) and completed postdoctoral training under Dr. Jon Yewdell at the NIH (2014–2018). Key research areas include antibody specificity, germinal center dynamics, and nasal-resident memory B cells. His lab collaborates nationally/internationally with groups in immunology, structural biology, and vaccine design. Funding sources include the European Research Council (ERC), Swedish Research Council, and Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. Awards include the SSI Young Investigator Award (2023) and Kuan-Teh Jeang Scholar Award (2018). His work bridges fundamental immunology with translational vaccine development.
- Education: PhD (2013, Karolinska), Postdoc (NIH)
- Key collaborations: EPFL Lausanne, University of Oslo, Chalmers Technical University
- Lab focus: Nasal immunity, universal vaccines, B-cell biology
Research emphasizes mucosal immunity and designing vaccines delivered via respiratory routes. Current projects include developing influenza vaccines targeting conserved epitopes and studying ectopic germinal centers in nasal turbinates. His team also investigates cross-reactive antibodies and T-cell interactions in respiratory infections.
