David Woodliff is a Professor of Accounting at the UWA Business School, The University of Western Australia, where he has been since 1982. His roles include academic leadership, such as Deputy Head of the former Department of Accounting & Finance, and Postgraduate Course Controller. He holds a PhD (1995) and has extensive teaching experience across undergraduate, graduate, MBA, and executive education programs in accounting, finance, and financial management.
Research Interests: Focus on auditing, behavioral accounting, financial statement analysis, and corporate finance. His work addresses ethical leadership, misreporting deterrence, auditor judgment, and the impact of performance schemes on professional conduct. He actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to responsible consumption and production (SDG 12).
Grants & Projects: Co-investigator on two major grants: 'Decision Usefulness & Cost - An Evaluation of Fair Value Measurement Bases' (2010) and 'An Experimental Study of the Decision Usefulness of the IASB's Proposed Comprehensive Income Statement' (2005).

- Advisory Roles: Supervised PhD candidates in auditing, financial accounting, and entrepreneurship, with ongoing supervision in auditing and managerial accounting.
