معرفی
Dr. David Wiedemann is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Mathematics of the Technical University of Dortmund. His academic career spans institutions including the University of Augsburg (2019-2023) and TU Munich (2017-2019). He holds a PhD in Mathematics (summa cum laude) and is affiliated with the DFG SPP2256 project on variational methods in engineering.
- Education
- M.Sc. in Mathematics (TopMath), TU Munich (2017-2019)
- B.Sc. in Mathematics, University of Augsburg (2014-2017)
His research focuses on mathematical modeling and analysis of partial differential equations in multiscale systems. Key areas include periodic homogenization of transport processes in evolving porous media, fluid mechanics, and applications in materials science and electromagnetism. His work bridges theoretical developments with practical challenges in physico-chemical systems.
Scientific recognition includes:
- 2025-2027: GAMM Juniors member
- 2023: SIAM Student Travel Award
- 2023: Best PhD presentation award at Aberystwyth
- 2020-2023: German Academic Scholarship Foundation doctoral scholarship
- 2019: Hurwitz Prize for top Masters graduate at TU Munich
- 2017: TopMath Study Award at TU Munich
He has undertaken international research stays at the Isaac Newton Institute (Cambridge), Simon Fraser University (Vancouver), and Rockfield/Aberystwyth (UK). These experiences have shaped his expertise in multiscale modeling and wave scattering theory.
