Dr David Wadley is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the School of the Environment at the University of Queensland. He holds a PhD from the Australian National University (1975) and has extensive qualifications in education and business administration. His research focuses on Philosophy of Planning and Development, Industrial and Retail Planning, Economic Geography, and Futurology. Current projects include Visual Impact Assessment in Planning, Equity in Retail Planning, and Social Work Experience in the Future.

Dr Wadley has led or contributed to funded projects on sustainable housing and retirement policy in Australia.
Publications include influential books such as The City of Grace: An Urban Manifesto (2020) and over 90 journal articles. His recent work explores oil dependency in Indonesia, circular economy frameworks, and labor dynamics in the 21st century. He actively advises on interdisciplinary projects, bridging architecture, urban design, and socio-economic policy.
