David Vernez

David Vernez serves as a Lecturer within the Service for Health and Environment (SSIE) at the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).

His academic focus centers on environmental and occupational health systems, examining the complex interactions between environmental pollutants and human well-being. His research interests span environmental health, occupational health, climate change impacts on health infrastructure, risk assessment methodologies, pollution control strategies, and public health policy development. His expertise addresses critical challenges in identifying physical, chemical, and biological hazards while developing preventive frameworks for workplace and community health protection.

As an educator, he leads course ENV-468 which critically analyzes environmental health risks, prevention strategies, and emerging climate-related health challenges, providing students with comprehensive frameworks for hazard identification and risk mitigation in professional and general environments.
