David Underwood

David Underwood is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theatre at the University of North Carolina Pembroke (UNCP). He has been affiliated with UNCP since 1998 and serves as the Production Manager of the Givens Performing Arts Center (GPAC). His roles include Technical Director, Lighting Designer, and Set Designer for the Theatre Program, with over 50 productions designed to his credit.

He teaches courses such as Introduction to Theatre, Set Design, Scene Paint, Stage Management, Props Design, and Stage Combat. Underwood holds a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Technical Theatre from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theatre Education from Swarthmore College.

His expertise lies in Theatre Technology & Design, focusing on practical and creative aspects of stage production. Office hours are held Monday/Friday 1:00–3:00 PM and Tuesday/Thursday 2:00–3:00 PM.
