David T. Croasdell is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and the Charles and Ruth Hopping Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he serves as Chairman of the Department of Information Systems and NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative.
His educational background:
- Ph.D. in Business Administration (MIS) from Texas A&M University
- M.S. in Business Computing Science from Texas A&M University
- B.S. in Zoology from the University of Idaho
Dr. Croasdell's research centers on managing distributed knowledge systems with emphasis on Knowledge Equity, Knowledge Networks, and Organizational Memory. He explores how network infrastructures foster Global Entrepreneurship and advocates for global citizenship in Friedman's 'Flat World,' requiring cross-cultural understanding for international business success. His work bridges Knowledge Management theory with practical entrepreneurial applications.
He actively cultivates entrepreneurship through:
- Directing the Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition
- Co-directing the Governor's Cup Business Plan competition
- Advising the Entrepreneurship club (EClub)
- Founding Entrepreneurship Nevada
- Board membership at Entrepreneurs Assembly
- Founding mentorship at Summit VMS

Prior to academia, he worked as a technical staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory and has launched three personal startup ventures while mentoring numerous student teams.
