David Sumner is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Engineering. Educated at McGill University (Ph.D., 1999) and the University of Waterloo (M.A.Sc., 1994), he teaches fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics using traditional chalkboard methods. He received the Master Teacher Award (2022).
His research examines bluff-body aerodynamics, wake interference, and fluid-structure interactions, with applications in engineering design and environmental flows.
