Dr. David Souto is a Lecturer in Vision Science and the Research Group Lead of the Vision Sciences Research Group at the University of Leicester's School of Psychology and Vision Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Geneva (2009) and has conducted postdoctoral research at University College London (UCL). His work focuses on dynamic vision mechanisms, using psychophysical methods and eye-tracking to investigate how humans perceive motion and select task-relevant visual information during eye movements. Applied research includes assistive communication technology (collaborating with Barnsley Hospital and Dundee University) and pedestrian road-crossing perception.
